Meet Ken Zinkand

SwingWise's founder is a lifelong golfer, in fact, it's been a part of his life for over four decades! All of those years were filled with countless rounds and the tireless pursuit to be a scratch golfer.

In 2023, a pivotal realization transformed his game: true improvement requires more than just skill—it demands a strategic approach. By embracing advanced course management techniques, he uncovered the key to consistently improving scores and making par or better. This breakthrough inspired the creation of SwingWise, designed to share these powerful strategies with golfers everywhere.

Introducing Golf Theory Optimal

In 2023, I introduced Golf Theory Optimal—a game-changing methodology that goes far beyond a simple swing adjustment or a shiny new driver. It’s a complete transformation of how I approach every shot, rooted in strategic precision and advanced course management.

The results? Nothing short of extraordinary. My handicap dropped from 12.9 to 2.7, a testament to the power of this approach.

Inspired by this success, I set out to share the Golf Theory Optimal method with golfers everywhere, helping them unlock their full potential and experience the same dramatic improvement in their game.

The Birth of SwingWise | How I Got Here?

In golf, once you think you've got it, you don't. Despite my best efforts to follow golf course management strategies, I occasionally failed to adhere to the principles. I noticed a direct correlation between my performance and adherence to these strategies. For example, aiming directly at pins instead of optimal landing areas or blindly aiming to the middle of the fairway without considering trouble areas led to inconsistent play and higher scores.

This realization prompted me to search for an app or software that could provide real-time, personalized caddie advice, but I found nothing. Seeing this gap in the market, I created SwingWise to help golfers make smarter decisions on the course, leading to better performance and lower scores.

Evaluate the course layout, conditions, and the position of your ball, considering both lie and stance.

  • Take into account hazards such as bunkers, water, and out of bounds in relation to your target

  • Note the wind direction, elevation, and course conditions

  • Evaluate the ball's lie in the fairway or in the rough, this ultimately dictates the correct shots to play

Weigh Risks

Evaluate risk of penalty versus reward for pulling off a shot.

  • Calculate the probability of hitting hazards based on your skill, confidence, and shot tendencies

  • Calculate the potential penalty for hitting into hazard

  • Determine the risk vs. reward for the shots you have to choose from

Implement Strategy

Commit to the optimal strategy based on your assessment and execute it with confidence and determination.

  • Choose a club that covers penalty areas

  • Select a target that minimizes risk while maximizes gain

  • Visualize the shot and commit to your decision

Navigate Obstacles

Plan for & manage any challenges you might face.

  • Create a plan that aims away from penalty areas

  • Choose a club that will clear all hazards comfortably

  • When you hit an errant shot, get it back into position (NO HERO SHOTS)

Goal Setting

Set a specific plan for your shot and evaluate those shots with realistic outcomes.

  • Adhere to the optimal strategy on every shot

  • Realistically evaluate shot choice

  • Do not confuse a bad shot with poor shot selection
